Dream: The Seige and Escape

I remember laying seige to the castle walls. Only it occured twice. The first time, I do believe it was successful. Then as if, a potentiality that lies aside the first instance, it was failure.

In the second time, I remember fighting with my sword, stricking enemy after enemy. And then I strick my own brother. It is no death blow, but a strick in the shoulder that leaves him incapable of fighting as well as he can. We become overwhelmed as he was our best figther. There are only 3 of us that survive, I am to meet up with them at a predetermined location, but I am delayed. We miss our meeting and as such can not continue with the battle.

Now we must flee, we take to an old water way passage that leads outside of the castle. We seek refuge in the towns below.

The dream clouds over...

Now I did happen to watch Lord of the Rings last night, but I still feel as though there is meaning within this astral expression of sub-conscious.

interpretations always welcome of a dream

Wow. I think it would nice to have dreams similar to The Lord of the Rings.

As for striking your brother... Some say that the esoteric path leads to the death of the lower self.

The dream was interesting indeed. Some do say that, others may say that esoteric paths lead to alignment of higher and lower selves. I like the term grounded self, as opposed to lower self. It is important to remain grounded, and lower sometimes sounds like less important. Stricking down my grounded self, hmm intersting

Hello H~,

I did not mean grounded self.

I meant, that part of us that wants to be asleep as opposed to that part that wants to wake up. The part that must die before our true self can be born. It is our personality... what we think we are. It must die(psychologically), and this seems like real death to us.

Not to diminish the value of being grounded.

I plugged your dream into an online interpretor. I cleaned out some of the junk that the program gave me and ended up with the good stuff:

The appearance of a castle in your dream indicates reward, honor, recognition, and praise for your achievements. It foretells that your future will be a happy one, surrounded by the love of your children, generosity of neighbors, and comfort of friends. You are destined to a position of power, wealth, and prestige.
Observing in your dream that you live in a castle is a reflection of your need for security and protection to the point where you may be isolating yourself from others.

If you have an important appointment, your subconscious mind will keep an eye on the time for even when your conscious mind is asleep. Dreaming about time is one your subconscious mind's ways to keep you from oversleeping. Dreaming about time is a sign of your real life stress and anxiety. Constantly checking on the time is a characteristic of Type A personality. Recurring dreams of time is one step further.

Observing in your dream that you participate in a fight reflects inner turmoil. Some aspect of yourself is in conflict with another aspect of yourself. Maybe an unresolved or unacknowledged part is fighting for its right to be heard. It may also parallel a fight or struggle that you are going through in your waking life.
Seeing others fighting in your dream is an indication of that you are unwilling to acknowledge your own problems and turmoil. You are not taking any responsibility or initiative in trying to resolve issues in your waking life.
Seeing in your dream that you are fighting to the death is a reflection of that you are unwilling to acknowledge a waking conflict or your own inner turmoil. You are unwilling and refusing to change your old attitudes and habits.

Having a dream that you are wielding a sword symbolizes your ambition, competitive nature decisiveness and will power.. You seek to hold a position of prestige, authority, and distinction. Alternatively, the sword can be seen as a phallic symbol and thus represent masculine power.

The most direct way to interpret your dream about your brother is that in your dream you express your feelings about your brother, which may be repressed in your waking life. Do you love him? Or do you hate him. Are you afraid to express these feelings in real life?
The brother in your dream does not have to be your brother. Your dream can also be about someone who has certain characteristics/behavior similar to your brother's.
If you don't really have a brother, the brother in you dream may be a character that represents your buddy or an authority. Like they say, “the big brother”.

To be in or see a battle in your dream reflects that you are overworked. You need to give yourself a break. There is a conflict between your rational thinking and your irrational impulses. Alternatively, it represents eroticism. You may be overly stimulated or you are trying to suppress your instinctual urges.

Ahh beard you speak of ego, I believe. Hopefully through evolution ego, becomes EGO with a soul enfusion. I tend to think of it as alignment of the personality with the soul, we could start talkin about Monads and stuff, but 2 dimensional is enough for this commentary ;-) Stacey that sounds like a cool tool! Perhaps my inner turmoil is precisely what Beard is talkin about with my personality. Perhaps the dream journals are the ways that we confront consiously what the sub is dealing with. And I am overworked, interesting, its kind of strange that it mentions this, I was just thinking how I may need to rest a little. I do believe I am entering the quit before the storm. However, it is not in my nature to rest, I'd rather prepare for the storm.

your comments are most welcome friends

Something like ego but my view is different than Frueds.

Unfortuanately different systems have different languages so it is sometimes difficult to understand each other. That is not such a big problem as long as we don't assume that the other person is wrong.

Anyway it seems like you have an approximate understanding of what I meant now.
